Shabbat Shacharit with Annette Böckler

On 8th of August, Annette Böckler from Leo Baeck College in London will be visiting Heidelberg. She will lead an explanatory Shabbat Shacharit service in our community. Topics will include the structure of the service, various options to adapt the service to the community's needs, and things that are possible even when there is no minyan.

Annette Böckler is currently lecturer for Bible and liturgy as well as librarian at the Leo Baeck College in London. She previously worked as a researcher and teacher at Abraham Geiger Kolleg in Potsdam, as well as at the Hochschule für Jüdische Studien in Heidelberg. She is the author of a book about Jewish liturgy - Jüdischer Gottesdienst. Wesen und Struktur - und has translated Gunther Plaut's Torah commentary, the Pessach Haggada edited by Michael Shire, and the Siddur Seder ha-Tefillot into German.
